MID TERM HAPPENINGS

ANCIENT EGYPT

As part of our History studies, the students are currently researching about the life of key groups of people in Ancient Egypt. They are to imagine they are one of these people (pharaoh, scribe, embalmer, merchant etc.) and write a journal/diary about a day in their life. The students will work on this in class time as well as for homework over the  next two weeks.

BOOK WEEK

On Tuesday 21st, the author Phil Cummings will be talking to our class about creative writing strategies and how to hook the audience into your book. By all accounts he is most entertaining.

Our Book Week parade is on Friday 24th at 10.20 on the court near the library. It would be great if as many people as possible can get into the spirit of the day and dress up as a book character. It can be kept really simple.

UNLEY HIGH MUSICAL

A reminder that this Thursday 23rd we are visiting Unley High to view their students’ performance of ‘The Addams Family.’ We will be leaving school at 11.10 and returning at approximately 1.00 pm.

GROWTH and DEVELOPMENT

We are 2 sessions into our 4 session course. Our presenter, Sally, is terrific and clearly and confidently imparts all the necessary information to the students. The students have reacted very favourably to her and have been very engaged, while also asking lots of relevant questions.
